Does Lowe Refrigeration offer free delivery on all refrigeration units?
Lowe Refrigeration offers free delivery on all refrigeration units (freezers, chillers, and fridges) to large exhibitions where a large volume of units are being supplied. One-off rentals will be subject to a transportation fee and where the building of a modular cold room is required, an installation fee is applicable.
Our Product Range
Does Lowe Refrigeration provide refrigeration units for commercial use only, or do you also provide domestic fridges?
Although the vast majority of our clients are in the commercial sector, we do provide wine chillers and a number of other refrigeration units for domestic use.
Don't hesitate to contact a Lowe Refrigeration representative today for more information.
Do models of commercial refrigeration units vary in suitability for different products?
Yes, various types of food products are suited to particular types of refrigeration units. Differences arise both in the temperature range of the unit itself, as well as the storage and presentation methods. We offer refrigerated cold rooms with hanging rails for chilled fresh meat storage, as well as fish refrigeration displays suitable for flaked ice, which are commonly seen in retail outlets. We also stock multi-deck dairy chillers with optional fruit and vegetable display kits, as well as bar fridges, and drinks display chillers.
What is the difference between a chilling unit and a freezer unit?
Given that commercial chillers, industrial fridges and commercial freezers come in many different shapes and sizes, the main functional difference is that freezers are designed to store or display food at low temperatures, generally between -18-25°C, depending on the product. Chilled food, on the other hand, is usually kept at between -1°C and +7°C.
If you have an exhibition or food show in the pipeline, and are unsure whether your produce suits a commercial fridge, freezer or dairy unit, please feel free to browse our products under the sales or rental tabs at the top of this website. A comprehensive breakdown is available for every unit present; this will help in your decision making. Alternatively, do not hesitate in contacting one of our representatives today.
Does Lowe Refrigeration sell second hand refrigeration units?
Yes, we sell ex-rental display and storage refrigeration equipment such as modular cold rooms, drinks chillers, commercial coolers, and under counter refrigeration.
Does Lowe Refrigeration offer fabrication services for the creation of bespoke commercial coolers or refrigeration units?
Although Lowe Refrigeration’s core business involves the sale and hire of commercial coolers, we have also fabricated a large number of bespoke refrigeration units and commercial coolers. Please contact Lowe Refrigeration today if you have a specific requirement in this area.
Does Lowe Refrigeration purchase or sell second-hand units?
We regret that we do not purchase second-hand refrigeration units of any kind; Lowe Refrigeration only sells refrigeration equipment which we have bought and maintained from new since this guarantees the quality of inventory and offers peace of mind to our clients.
I am considering expanding our small farm shop to facilitate a larger range of chilled goods. Does Lowe Refrigeration offer a hire-purchase scheme for refrigeration or chiller units?
Yes, at Lowe Refrigeration we offer hire purchase schemes, which you can discuss with one of our Lowe Refrigeration representatives who are more than happy to help.
I own a convenience store. What is the largest drinks display/chiller unit which Lowe Refrigeration has in stock?
The largest drinks display chiller unit which we stock, is a 3.7m remote or integral multi-deck chiller. Lowe Refrigeration always advises consulting a representative, or our detailed documentation which can be found for each product on our website, to ensure the suitability of any given fridge, freezer or chiller to your premises or purpose.
Is there any advice that Lowe Refrigeration would give its clients prior to the installation of a dairy chiller unit in a convenience store with respect to location, temperature, or shop floor planning?
Integral dairy chiller units should be positioned to allow adequate ventilation of the chiller’s condensing unit. Care must also be taken to ensure that the unit is not located too close to a draught (such as an open door or directly underneath an air conditioning unit) since the movement of air can affect the temperature of the fridge or chiller. Most dairy chillers are designed to be wall sited. We advise our customers to leave a gap of 100mm behind all dairy chiller units.
Are fridges or chillers available in a range of colours, or is the customisation of refrigeration units an option?
Our clients are welcome to affix branding or decals on the face of any refrigeration units (chillers, fridges, drinks display units etc) in the event that this helps our refrigerators to fit-in with corporate branding. Lowe Refrigeration can change the trim colour on many of our fridge and freezer units.
Aside from refrigeration and chiller units, what other products and services does Lowe Refrigeration provide?
We provide a varied range of:
- Commercial Freezers,
- Coldrooms,
- Heated displays,
- Portable sinks
- Commercial icemakers
- Commercial and domestic wine chillers
For large exhibitions we also provide small catering items, such as kettles, microwaves and meat slicers. Please check our product portfolio for more details.
We also offer a fabrication service, which aims to satisfy the bespoke refrigeration requirements of larger, or niche clientele.
Product Rental (General)
Does Lowe Refrigeration offer long-term rental schemes on refrigeration or chiller units?
Yes, we offer long term rental on cold stores, fridges, freezers and all manners of commercial coolers, depending on the period of time in question. Please contact one of our sales members today for more info.
Is there a minimum fee, or rental period for fridges when dealing with Lowe Refrigeration?
No. Since a fair proportion of our business involves the supply of commercial refrigeration, chillers and freezers for one-day events, it follows that there is no minimum rental period for any of our commercial coolers. If you require a commercial refrigerator for a short period of time, or an event such as a food show or exhibition, please do not hesitate in contacting one of our representatives today, they will be happy to discuss your needs.
I would like to brand my drinks chiller unit in keeping with a recent advertising campaign. Does Lowe Refrigeration have any reservations on the addition of decals to rented refrigeration or chilling units. Does it offer this service separately?
Our customers can affix branding to the cabinet as long as they do not block the vents as this can cause fridge or chiller cabinets to malfunction.
Any peripheral elements which are attached to a fridge or chilling cabinet must be removed at the end of the rental period without damaging the unit. Any damage which has been caused by affixing branding to the refrigeration equipment will be charged to the hirer. Lowe Refrigeration can arrange the branding of fridges, freezers, and drinks displays at an additional cost.
How can I find out the surface area suitable for decal application on my rented fridge?
Each commercial refrigerator listed on our website under the products tab (sales or rental) has a low resolution dimensional diagram, as well as a print resolution PDF download which describes the fridge’s dimensions in greater detail. However, always check with the rental team to ensure the measurements are applicable to the model available in your location.
Is insurance included within the rental fee of my fridge?
Lowe Refrigeration understands that the insurance of refrigeration units is important to its clients. Insurance is charged at an additional 5% of the rental fee of your fridge or freezer. Clients renting a refrigeration unit for major food exhibitions or shows will find details on the acquisition of insurance on all major show order forms.

In the event that the fault cannot be rectified, a replacement unit will be provided as quickly as possible for the client.
Is there a call out fee/repair fee to rectify breakdowns which occur to my fridge or freezer during the exhibition lease period?

For events where there is no deadline date, the cancellation of your refrigeration hire must be received prior to 14 days of the commencement of the event, in order to prevent cancellation fees being charged. For further information on cancelling your refrigeration hire, and other important information, please view our terms and conditions here.

We have a dedicated technical services department which specialises in the service, planned preventative maintenance, parts, refurbishment, and temperature monitoring of new, second hand and leased fridges, freezers, and chiller units.
If my in-store refrigeration unit malfunctions, how long does it normally take for one of your engineers to arrive?
